The Corporate Director of Business Development for Heart & Vascular Administration is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving employee engagement, enhancing the patient experience, strengthening community partnerships, and expanding the reach of Heart & Vascular Administration beyond the Emory Healthcare Network (EHN). This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including developing and implementing strategies to foster a positive and inclusive work environment, training and developing employees, and implementing performance management processes.

Additionally, the role focuses on enhancing the patient experience through effective communication, patient education, and patient satisfaction measurement. The Corporate Director also plays a crucial role in building strong partnerships with community providers, developing marketing and communication campaigns, and identifying and addressing community health needs. With strong leadership and management skills, strategic thinking, and a keen understanding of healthcare regulations, the Corporate Director of Business Development ensures the success and growth of Heart & Vascular Administration through financial management, operational efficiency, and the pursuit of strategic business opportunities both within and beyond the EHN.

The position collaborates closely with the senior and executive physician and administrative leaders across the system.

Specific duties include the following:

Employee Engagement:

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention.

  • Support modality leaders in employee development programs, including training, coaching, and mentorship opportunities.

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development for professional growth.

  • Coordinate employee recognition and award programs to acknowledge exceptional performance.

  • Work with modality directors to establish effective communication channels with employees to keep them informed and engaged.

  • Implement employee education and development programs that align with organizational goals and provide opportunities for growth.

Patient Experience:

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance patient satisfaction and experience.

  • Oversee the development of patient education programs in Heart & Vascular Administration.

  • Foster a culture of patient-focused communication and train employees accordingly.

  • Maintain effective communication channels with patients and their families.

  • Implement patient satisfaction measurement tools and act on feedback promptly.

  • Identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address them.

  • Analyze operational and business data for trends and present recommendations to leadership.

Community:

  • Liaise with community providers to ensure proactive support and communication.

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the organization's reputation in the community.

  • Foster collaboration and partnership with community providers for joint initiatives.

  • Maintain effective communication channels with community providers.

  • Identify community health needs and implement programs to address them.

  • Align community outreach programs with strategic goals and objectives.

Leadership and Management:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills to inspire and motivate teams.

  • Communicate effectively with employees, patients, community providers, and stakeholders.

  • Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends and develop solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including patient privacy and data protection.

  • Manage projects effectively, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.

  • Build a positive and inclusive work environment where employees feel valued.

  • Work with EHC Marketing teams to develop and implement marketing and communication campaigns.

  • Adapt to changing priorities and requirements.

Outreach to Providers in and outside of the EHN:

  • Develop and implement strategies for outreach and engagement with providers outside of the EHN (Emory Healthcare Network).

  • Align strategic business opportunities and leverage partnerships.

  • Identify potential partnerships and collaboration opportunities with external providers.

  • Establish effective communication channels and maintain relationships with external providers.

  • Promote the benefits and capabilities of Heart & Vascular Administration to external providers.

  • Collaborate with external providers to enhance patient care coordination and referral processes.

  • Participate in industry events and conferences to network with external providers.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and developments related to external provider engagement.

  • Explore opportunities for joint initiatives and programs with external providers.

  • Ensure alignment of strategic business opportunities with external providers and leverage partnerships.

  • Contribute to the growth and expansion of Heart & Vascular Administration beyond the EHN.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, management, health administration, or related field.

  • Masters degree preferred.

  • Six years management experience within a medical environment including multi-site group oversight.
