TEKsystems Wireless Network Engineer in East Peoria, Illinois

Description:

• Must be in East Peoria or within a reasonable drive for on-call purposes.

• Job is hybrid – 3 days a week required in the office. Team runs with a flexible schedule on which dates are remote

• Work directly on WLAN issue identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions

• Participate in integrated testing and user acceptance of application or infrastructure components

• Work actively with business partners and vendors with integration of infrastructure

• Implement WLAN designs

• Work with expanded WLAN team to implement processes and/or process improvements to aid in development and support

• Maintain and administer Cat WLAN including hardware, software, applications software, and configurations.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve WLAN hardware, software, or other network and system problems.

• Participate in an on-call rotation with team members, approximately 1 week every 8 weeks

• Remote work is allowed on a limited basis, but candidate must be within 30-minute driving distance in the event on-site support is required.

• Must have knowledge of configuration commands, software, and hardware components related to WLAN

• Computer-related or engineering-related four-year college or university degree

• Three to six years of progressively responsible IT job-related experiences

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

• Experience with automation technologies and scripting

• Relevant work experience with medium to large companies

• Must have knowledge of configuration commands, software, and hardware components related to WLAN

Typical Day: Work as part of a team to support WLAN calls and issues that arise throughout the day. Work on projects to implement wireless designs and provide extended wireless access to existing facilities. Also will work to implement/update wireless networks to support changes that align with wireless strategy.
