COUNTY OF KENOSHA Elected Officials Deputy, Part Time in KENOSHA, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Kenosha County is looking for a detail-oriented, customer-focused Elected Officials Deputy. The Elected Officials Deputy provides assistance to the Elected Officials offices for their daily needs during staff\'s absences, which requires full knowledge of more than a dozen positions. This role also provides coverage at the Elected Officials satellite office located at Hwy 50 and Hwy 45 in Bristol when the staff there is absent for any reason. The person holding this position is expected to be a fully functioning member of all the departments it provides coverage for. The work schedule is 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, except for the last two weeks in July which requires 40 hours per week. Duties include: Manage daily operations of Elected Officials offices; includes running reports to verify financial reports and updating. Ensure all interdepartmental mail is logged and tracked before sending with courier. Provide daily reports for each department for back-up and balancing, with three separate bank deposits. Responsible to work with seven different receipting systems. Provide back-up coverage for front counter (fiscal). Accept departmental deposits for Highways, Parks & Golf, and UW Extension. Assist in covering phones for a variety of questions ranging from high level tax to County information. Cover Elected Officials satellite office when regular staff has time off. When not covering satellite office, assist in the four Elected Official offices downtown: County Clerk, Register of Deeds, Clerk of Circuit Court, and Treasurer. Perform duties of Deputy Treasurer: receipt tax payments, receipt municipal payments, end of day balancing, proof ads, explain property tax laws to the public, assist with Tax Deed and IN Rem processes, assist with administering Ag Use Value Conversion Charges, assist with Lottery Credit auditing and mailings, and assist with closing of quit claimed properties. o Receipt all payments on delinquent taxes owed to the County. o Responsible for year-end transfer of all Treasurer office files. o Ensure proper allocation to base tax amount, interest, and penalties from tax payments. Perform duties of Deputy Register of Deeds: accept documents for recording such as deeds and mortgages from title companies, attorneys, other county offices, and the public. o Proofread and verify that documents conform to Wisconsin statutes and regulations. o Issue vital records including birth, marriage, divorce, and death certificates. o Track all certificates issued at satellite office for numbered security paper. o Assist the public with using the public access computers to search property information and recorded documents kept for public record. Perform duties of Deputy County Clerk: assist applicants applying for marriage licenses and provide notary public services. o Sell copies of the Directory of Public Officials. o Provide basic information on passport services. o Assist in the delivery and receipt of election related materials from various municipalities. Perform duties of Deputy Clerk of Courts: assign court dates, open case files, and accept legal documents from attorneys and public for filing. Maintain court case records. o Provide pending and post judgement information. o Calculate fines/fees to collection agency, interest due, and monies due to the Court. o Accept and receipt all payments for fines, including traffic tickets, misdemeanors, and felony offenses. o Accept filings for small claims, civil, and family. o Provide information on the service of papers by Kenosha County Sheriff\'s department. o Collect fees and allow reinstatement of suspended licenses. Perform other work as required or assigned.
