Pactiv Evergreen Security Specialist in Lake Forest, Illinois

Overview

The Security Specialist reports directly to the Sr. Manager of Security at the corporate level and acts as the main subject matter expert (SME) and point of contact for physical security for all sites enterprise-wide, as well as own the company’s travel and crisis communication tool.

This is a remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Produce reports on a regular basis relating to site level physical security performance, readiness, and other status issues.

  • Oversee security projects and initiatives, working with internal and external partners to realize key objectives and achieve mission success.

  • Provide expert counsel and assistance as needed to site leadership with the creation and implementation of Procedures, Guidelines, Post Orders, and Training related to physical security.

  • Create, review, and assist sites to continually improve local policies, plans, procedures, ensuring adherence to regulations and the corporate security policy and standards.

  • Design, plan, implement physical barrier assets, assess access control systems, digital video surveillance systems, security officer operations, and physical security alarm systems.

  • Assist all sites in assuring physical protection systems remain fully operational and in compliance with corporate security standards.

  • Identify, analyze, and develop mitigation strategies related to anti-terrorism, force protection, physical security, and continuity of business operations technologies, principles, and standards to develop options to reduce business risks and vulnerabilities.

  • Conduct annual required site security vulnerability assessments, produce comprehensive reports detailing corrective and recommended actions for site program improvement, tracking all corrective actions to completion.

  • Act as a tactical internal point of contact and SME at the corporate level for threat assessment and management/workplace violence events, ensuring internal and external stakeholders follow corporate procedures for assessing and managing all potential threats of workplace violence.

  • Serve as business continuity lead for physical security across BU’s to ensure risk is clearly identified and mitigated appropriately through business impact analyses, and subsequent mitigative plans to address gaps which present risk to the organization.

  • Review all security policies and standards on an annual basis and make improvement recommendations to the Sr. Manager of Security in accordance with the corporate securitystandards.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree with emphasis in Security Management or related focus, required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Security Management, preferred.

  • 7 years of experience managing physical security operations, i.e. Security Supervisor, Security Manager, Security Specialist.

  • Law enforcement or military experience, preferred.

  • Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) and vulnerability assessment experience required.

  • Threat assessment and management experience, preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Possess solid proficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant security systems skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.

  • Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.

  • Well-developed leadership and motivational skills with proven ability to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve results.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.

  • Ability to be on-call in response to critical security events.

  • Ability to travel (30%-50%).
