The Opportunity

We have an immediate opening for a TPM Procurement Manager in our Building J 55, Lake Forest, IL location. A key part of the role will be managing the TPM relationship and leading or attending the majority of calls between Abbott and the TPMs. This role will be the key relationship manager between CMI and the TPMs. This role will partner with Engineering and Quality to solve various technical, or quality challenges related to the TPM.

What You’ll Work On

  • This role will enhance the CMI division's third-party manufacturing (TPM) capabilities.

  • This is a new role in CMI that will focus on all procurement related activities for CMI’s critical OUS TPMs including instrument manufacturers and a plastics supplier.

  • This role will focus on ensuring supply from these suppliers (monitoring production, escalating risks, etc.), managing the TPM spend and budget, and helping drive cost reduction and other improvement projects.

  • Schedule flexibility will be important as the TPMs in-scope for this role are located from Sweden and the UK to China and Malaysia. Estimated travel will be around 20%.

  • Develops and prioritizes TPM department goals and objectives, measures performance, and implements corrective actions when necessary.

  • Ensures governance model is established and followed to identify clear roles and responsibilities and develop strategies to address TPM performance issues.

  • Responsible for evaluation and identification of technical manufacturing capabilities of current and future TPMs.

  • Coordinates TPM related programs such as product transfers, continuous improvement initiatives, material changes, validation of new manufacturing process, etc., providing oversight and guidance to Supply Chain, Quality, and Regulatory functions.

  • Develops objectives and implements actions to reduce the total acquisition costs (product / component cost) and initiates/facilitates/coordinates new and current product/component designs and design changes to achieve improved quality and cost.

  • Coordinates internal and external resources to address issues and ensure supply.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree (± 16 years)

  • 10 years of work experience in similar area

  • Strong leadership and supplier relationship management

  • Contract negotiation and management.

  • Engineering changes and root cause analysis

  • Financial acumen and analysis

  • Material planning and buying

  • Quality system exposure; CAPAs, SCARs, QIs

  • OUS Supplier relationship management (Europe and/or Asia)

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
